Why can't i download from your site?

My site uses various places to store the files.
I will show you how to get the files from each one.

1) Bittorrent:
Be sure to have a bittorrent client installed like µTorrent or Azureus.
If you havent got such a client then please go to the "Bittorrent FAQ" first for explanation on what bittorrent is.
Click on the [BT] link to download the .torrent file from my site and open it in your client.
Depending on the client you can just download every file in the torrent or make a selection of files to download.
After that just start the torrent if needed.

2) Easy-share:
Since i no longer am hosting the music on my own server you must use this alternative way for easy http downloading.
Click on the [DL] link on my site and wait for the Easy-Share page to appear.
Be patient as this can take up to 30 seconds as the site can be slow during peak hours!
After that you get a webpage showing the download link with image verification (captcha)
The idea is to fill in the text as it appears in the imgage for the download to start. (see below)
Easy-Share Tutorial Image
Then you are presented with a Save-As window, or your mediaplayer will take over the download.
The download speed is very high, as i usually reach speeds of 1000KB/sec (One megabyte a second)!

The download isn't working!

It can happen that my webserver/bittorrent server/third party download server is offline.
Make really sure that it isn't a temporary problem by reading the page carefully.
Easy-Share for example can look down, but its download links can take 30 seconds to appear!
If you are sure or get a 404 or file deletion notice then post a message in the forum or email me.
When you do either one (not both please) make sure to write down what link failed and why.
I usually ignore mails/posts saying "YOUR DOWNLOADS DONT WORK. HELP!!!" as they lack info.
I'l try my best to fix the errors as fast as i can but it may take a day or so.

What is Bittorrent?

There is a complete FAQ devote to Bittorrent.

Why can't i view the pictures in the pictures section?

The Picture section is made with javascript, so you need a browser that has it and enabled.
Internet Explorer v4.x and above, Netscape v4.7x, Opera v4.x and above WITH the Sun Javascript package and other browsers that have javascript support are able to view the page correctly.
There are only very few ppl who don't have Java or have it disabled.
For those i'm sorry but you need it to view the pictures.
Try enabling javascript or download it HERE

What do i do with those files i downloaded?!?

First you need to have an UNPACK program to join and unpack the .rar + .r00 + .r01 etc files.
This program is called WinRAR and is almost simular to the all known program called WinZIP but has some more advanced compression and the ability to split the big file into smaller segments of a desired length.
Now this splitting of the files is very handy for you the webuser.
How many times did it happen when you downloaded a big file from the internet only to get timed-out and to start the download all over again?
To solve this the BIG file is splitted up into smaller segments, so when a download gets interrupted you don't have to download the entire file again, only a small piece of it.
To get this program click HERE to get it.
Install the program and then in the explorer double click on the .rar file (has a winrar icon in front of it).
Also make sure the downloaded files are all in the same folder!!!
When you have the WinRAR screen in front of you, you will see the movie file, highlight the file and hit the extract button to unpack it.
Now if you have worked with winzip then this will be a snap, if you never done this before, please consult the manual of the program or just try things out.

How do i recover a corrupted RAR file?

So did your downloaded RAR file have corruptions?
There is a way to recover your downloaded file without redownloading it again.

As you may or may not know, the RAR file has a recovery record that can help restoring the RAR file into its original form.
This greatly helps recovering from those transmission errors you may have had during download.

Ok, this is how it works:

1) Start WinRAR (Not by clicking on the RAR file itself, just run the program)
2) Highlight the damaged RAR file.
3) Hit the Recover/Repair button.
4) Select 'Treat the corrupted archive as RAR'
5) A file called '_recover.rar' or '_reconst.rar' will be made, this is the fixed archive.
6) Unrar this archive to see if it cleared up the corruption.

Now WinRAR can repair most of the damage unless the damage was too extensive.
Winrar will fail or only do a partial recovery of a file when:

1) There was to many data corrupted for the recovery record to fix.
2) You didn't get the whole archive because the tranmission dropped.
3) The recovery record sustained damage (Winrar can't do a recovery as its missing vital info)

What are newsgroups???

Newsgroups are like a forum, you can post-chat with eachother by posting a message.
But that is not all you can do, as you can also post files in the way you would write an e-mail to someone and attach something to it.
There are countless newsgroups available and most pay ISP's have newsgroup capability.
Now like i said there are alot of newsgroups each with their own type of content.
For example a newsgroup devoted to a moviestar posting all the info about him-her with pictures, sound and even movies.
There are also a few groups devoted to ANIME and MANGA.
So basicly your sitting on a wealth of anime downloads and you don't even know it.
This is why i'm writing this simple tutorial to let the users explore those newsgroups and download enormous amounts of anime.
75 percent of all the anime i have comes from these newsgroups.
So now you say: WOW! I can download all the anime i want directly!
Well, Yes and No.
Newsgroups aren't huge storage places where anime's stays for a long time.
When a user posts an anime episode, the server will store and retain that file varying from 12 hours to 12 days, depending on your ISP.
So its highly recommended to check for new downloads every day.
Now to access the newsgroups you need a program.
I highly recommend using 'Forte Agent'.
When installed it asks a few questions like the url of your mailserver, check the documentation of your isp for this.
Also a username and e-mail is mandatory.
For username you can choose a nickname of your liking.
DO NOT type your real e-mail adress to keep those damn spam bots away.
For example type you e-mail adress like this: Klaas@DONOTSPAMhome.com.
Now if you ever post a message and someone wants to get in touch with you he will know that he needs to remove the DONOTSPAM part to get your real adress.
You can use variations in the DONOTSPAM string, as long as the other side understands what to remove ^_^.
Now for some early configuration options: (Note these are my personal options you can change them if you like)

Go to GROUP - Default Properties.
Make these modifications:
Agent Tutorial 1
A little explanation is required here.
Just like Outlook express or any other mail program all your mail is saved onto the harddisk.
Now with regular mail this not a problem as e-mail doesn't take up much space.
With newsgroups this is different as the anime's you're downloading can claim ALOT of space, Gigabytes at worst.
So you need to tell the program to purge those mails out of its internal database as your downloads are saved to another directory anyway.
Also the postings with text need purging as it will become insane if you still got the postings that were posted 6 months ago.
Now comes a part where you need to test your ISP's retention (the time untill a posting is deleted off the servers)
As time passes your isp will delete postings, as i said before there is a big time difference with each isp so you have to check this out for yourself.

Now to get the list of all the newgroups available.
Go to ONLINE - Refresh Groups List.
Don't be dazzled of all those newgroups i know there are ALOT of them.
These are the ones you need: (You can always add more)

alt.binaries.anime
alt.binaries.anime.vcd
alt.binaries.multimedia.anime
alt.binaries.multimedia.anime.repost
alt.binaries.multimedia.repost
alt.binaries.pictures.anime

Just highlight them, right-click your mouse and choose SUBSCRIBE.
There is no acual subscribing involved, its just to let the program know this is an important newsgroup.
The program may ask how many postings it should get, always choose 'all postings'

Now that all the postings are imported into the program its time to sort them.
In GROUP - Sort Messages by... choose either by Thread or by Author.
Both have they're advantages and their disadvantages, choose the one you like most.
I guess that by now you already found a posting of anime you want.
But 1st let me tell you about the structure the posting have.
Its nearly impossible for the poster to post an episode in 1 post.
So the poster usually RAR's the file into segments of 5-15 megs.
Those segments are shown in the posting itself as [1/5], [2/5] etc etc.
Also those RAR segments aren't posted in 1 post.
Did you notice the [*/45] part on the end of a posting?
It means the file has been split up into 45 segments.
If you can see a 'paper' icon in front of the file, this means not all the parts to make the entire file are on the server.
If after a day the file still isn't retrievable, post a request to the poster.
Use this format to get the poster's attention: 'ATTN (poster) Please repost 'Filename.Extension' TIA'
You can use small variations in this just look at what others use.
Some rules conserning making repost requests:

1) Don't make multiple same requests (vertical spam).
2) Use normal language that doesn't offend irritate others including the poster.
3) DON'T USE ALL CAPS! Its considered YELLING.
4) Don't use ########LOTS OF PUNCTUATION#########
5) Nym-shifting: changing your pseudonym to pretend to be different people requesting the same thing.

Just a small note: Sometimes the poster leaves a nfo message or a zero file explaining how fill request should be done.
If such file exists, READ IT and follow the instructions provided.
Agent Tutorial 2
Here is an example of fills that are complete, and fully downloadable (1)
And a posting that is incomplete (2)
You can check what parts are missing by clicking on the 'Message' button.
If you suffer from almost all files on the group you're on are incomplete (more then 80%, mostly big ones) then you're ISP hasn't got a good news-server, or just sucks.
In any case there's little to do about that then to 1) switch to a other/pay news-server, or 2) If your isp has multiple servers, change its adress and hope that will help (@home has alot of them)

When you've found an anime you want select all the postings of the file (the [1/20] etc etc)
Highlighted them all? Then select File - Save All Attachments.
The RAR parts are now being retrieved and saved in the directory you specified earlier.
When done, the only thing that remains is to UNRAR the files and you're set.
When your done downloading and are closing the program it will delete all the downloaded parts from its internal database (Can take awhile)
The next time when you use the program select: ONLINE - GET NEW HEADERS IN SUBSCRIBED GROUPS for the latest postings.
Remember to check, every day.
Have fun!.
